3)I Have a Sub-Human Appetite
Ever since I was a kid I would get the
biggest serve at the dinner table, have seconds, polish off everyone
else’s, have dessert only to be rummaging through the kitchen cupboards
again an hour later!
People are simply speechless when they watch me
eat.
And I LOVE it and I enjoy showing it off!
4)I Have Terrible Willpower
My willpower is so pathetic I couldn’t stand more
than one day without my favourite foods or overeating.
The lack of freedom and the restrictions drove me
crazy!
When dieting I felt like Bruce Banner trying to
keep himself from getting angry.
I’ll do alright for a while but sooner or later it
would become uncontrollable and out comes The Hulk! Only The Hulk
inside of me took out his anger and frustration on 4,000 calories worth
of food!
I was
so obsessive over these past 7 years, that I
would have averaged over 300 days a year where I actually tried to stick
to my diet!
I’m not kidding!
Problem
was I found dieting so hard that I would have averaged less than 50 successful days of
dieting a year!
The
other 250 odd days I would work my butt off...diet like a Spartan...and fight temptation at every turn but
by late afternoon or dinner time, I would be like…
“I Can’t Take It Anymore!!”
…and
pig out on anything and everything.

So anyway after seeing this
before picture, I thought to myself...

I mean, after all I have been overweight since the day
I was born.(See the

I have always been chubby, and
my uncles and their uncles are all massive, some topping 150kg and they
don’t even stretch past 6 foot. They are all built like stocky
shotputters or weight lifters. (Our
family jokingly refers to this as the “Hammond Gene”)
So I figured...
“Maybe this was how I was supposed to be?”
Maybe that’s why it was such
an uphill battle for me all those years. I felt like I had to come back
to reality and face the inevitable.
I was born to be overweight.
So I reluctantly tried to
accept that fact and move on with my life.
“How George
Costanza Turned It All Around For Me...
I was sitting in front of
the TV watching an old Seinfeld re-run where George felt like his life had
hit rock bottom. He felt like every decision he had made was wrong. So Jerry
suggested to him that he should do the opposite of his instincts.
Well his life completely turned
around!
He got
the girl, moved out of his parents place and got a job with the New York
Yankees.
As
crazy as it sounds, I mean this is make believe, a sitcom, but I really
related to this. I felt like my life was paralleling Georges and he
completely changed it all around by doing the opposite!
So I
figured if everything I had been doing for 7 years was wrong, why don’t I
just...
“Do The
Opposite!!!”
Of course!
After
all Albert Einstein once said…
"The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing
over and over again and expecting different results."
So
obviously I have to try something different, so why not try the complete
opposite?
The gears
were then really starting to turn in my head.
And
this caused me to think of 2 Bruce Lee quotes that I thought were
applicable to my situation.
“Man, the ever
creating individual is more important than any established style or
system.”
And...
“Absorb what is
useful, discard that which is useless, and keep what is essentially your
own.”
So
these 2 quotes convinced me to go stop searching for that one magical
diet, and instead create my own, by applying what worked for me in the
past and getting rid of what didn’t.
So
anyway with that in mind, I did some more research, recalled on my past
experiences and created a diet that allowed me to eat more food, eat basically
whatever I wanted and gave me the freedom to overeat and pig out
occasionally.
But when
I began putting this to the test I remember thinking…
“Geez, Mr Bean would have a better chance at winning a
beauty contest!”
I
didn’t seriously think it would work….I
mean who would?
I had
so many doubts. Things like...
...Wouldn’t
eating so little protein cause my metabolism to shut down?
...Won’t
eating all those bad, sugary carbohydrates spike my insulin levels,
preventing fat loss?
...Won’t
overeating ruin all my progress?
...Won’t
eating 2-3 large meals a day slow my metabolism down?
...Won’t
eating at night prevent fat loss?
But I
figured I had nothing to lose. I had tried everything under the sun, and
wasted 7 years in the process.

If all
